London One Day Travelcard is saved.

The Liberal Democrats in Wokingham are delighted to hear that the London One Day Travelcard is saved.

Transport for London announced on Tuesday (24 October 2023) that the one-day Travelcard has been saved.

The one-day ticket is used more than 14 million times a year by people visiting the capital, including many commuters and visitors from Wokingham Borough.

On hearing about the decision, Mark Morris from the Campaign for Better Transport, contacted Cllr Paul Fishwick, Executive Member for Active Travel, Transport and Highways, to thank him for the support from the Liberal Democrat led Wokingham Borough Council.

Cllr Fishwick said, “I’m delighted to hear about this decision and I’d like to thank all the residents in the Borough who took the time to sign the petition.

Many of our residents, including young people, families, commuters and those who don’t use contactless payments use the one-day travelcard which helps simplify travel to and around London.

This is exactly the type of ticket we need to encourage people to make sustainable choices about how they travel.”
