"No" to Laurel Park 3G pitch

Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) has announced proposals for a 3G pitch at Laurel Park in Earley. Earley Liberal Democrats have had a good look at the impacts on the neighbourhood, including the Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve, traffic and parking, and the effects on nearby residents, and do not believe Laurel Park is a suitable location. We feel that, by working with residents, WBC could find a suitable site in Earley, but Laurel Park is not that site.

We the undersigned support the principle of improved sports facilities in Earley. Laurel Park is not a suitable site for a 3G pitch. We call upon Wokingham Borough Council to evaluate all potentially suitable sites for 3G pitches, and to publish this before undertaking a full public consultation in advance of writing any planning application.
