Wokingham Liberal Democrats visited the Green Park wind turbine on Saturday 25th April. The 85m second generation turbine, visible from the M4 near junction 11, can generate electricity at speeds as low as 4 mph, and supplies enough power for over 1000 homes.

Commenting on the visit, Councillor Prue Bray, prospective parliamentary candidate for Wokingham said "The UK is lagging far behind other countries like Denmark and Germany in the amount of electricity generated from renewables. Turbines like this show what can be done - it's amazingly quiet, and has become quite a popular landmark along the motorway. I would urge more people to visit the turbine and find out about wind power."
