Statement by Wokingham Lib-Dems about Hurst Golf Club12.00.00pm GMT Fri 31st Oct 2008 Wokingham Liberal Democrats have expressed concern at the Council's decision to move the Hurst Golf Club from their clubhouse at Dinton Pastures. The Club has received short notice to move to a room above the Dragonfly Café. Councillor Prue Bray (Leader of the Liberal Democrat Councillor Group and councillor for Winnersh ward) said, "The Golf Club has many practical concerns about losing their clubhouse before suitable alternative premises are ready. Despite many months of talking, the Conservative administration at Wokingham has not succeeded in resolving the outstanding issues. "It should be perfectly possible to have a flourishing country park, a flourishing golf course and a flourishing golf club all on the same site. The Liberal Democrats very much want to see this situation resolved and we will be doing all we can to bring this about."
