John Redwood should come clean on his expenses. Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Wokingham, Prue Bray, asks "Were John Redwood's expenses considered above board, was he asked for more information, or was he told to pay some money back? It is time that John Redwood revealed what was in the letter he got from Sir Thomas Legg about MPs expenses."

Wokingham Liberal Democrats are calling on Labour and Conservative councillors on Reading Borough Council to drop their plans to bid for city status. In order for the bid to be a success, Reading would need to expand to include Woodley, Earley, Reading University, and the two business areas of Thames Valley Park and Green Park, all of which are currently in Wokingham Borough.

Lib Dem councillors have today attacked the Conservatives on Wokingham Borough Council for failing residents. Lib Dem Group Leader Prue Bray said: "Services have been cut, school buildings are crumbling, the roads are full of pot holes, council tenants are suffering and Children's Services has been judged among the worst in the country. The council is going backwards in terms of performance. But all we hear from the Conservatives is that it's the government's fault for not giving Wokingham enough money. It is time the Conservative leadership stopped blaming other people and admitted that they are the ones at fault."

Lib Dems on Wokingham Borough Council are shocked by the lack of gritting and clearing of the borough's car parks when compared to the council's own staff car park at Shute End which has been cleared.

Up to 1.7m pensioners nationally will miss out on Cold Weather Payments triggered by the recent weather, according to analysis of Government figures by the Liberal Democrats. Cold Weather Payments of £25 a week are paid to people on low incomes who receive a qualifying benefit, such as Pension Credit, which goes unclaimed by as many as 1.7m pensioners.

The Liberal Democrats have announced they will fight the General Election on four key principles, designed to make Britain a fairer place. Prue Bray, the Lib Dem prospective parliamentary candidate in Wokingham, has today set out her campaign priorities: fair taxes; a fair start for every child; fair, clean and local politics and a fair, green economy with jobs that last.
